Adam Willis is a southern California based Healing Movement Practitioner, Self-Defense Consultant and Martial Arts Instructor. He is known for being the developer of Advanced Fighting Concepts, founder of Yinergi Qigong and creator of Wing Chun Magazine.
Adam Willis has educated, empowered and entertained individuals through his seminars, websites, articles, publications and speaking engagements. He has trained numerous professionals, athletes and corporate executives. A speaker to groups ranging from employees of large corporations to university students, Adam Willis and his work has been featured in several publications both online and in print.
His teachings are based on the integration of concepts found within Eastern time-tested methods and Western modern technology.
Yinergi, developed by Adam Willis, is a holistic life tool aimed at fighting the negative effects of modern society on our mind and body. The focus is on self-awareness, stress reduction, skeletal alignment and energetic connections using the transformational impact of deliberately focused movement and posture. Yinergi involves the coordination of specific postures and motions that bring a stronger connection between the mind and body. It also focuses on developing and balancing Chi, the inherent energy of the Chinese acupuncture system.
Advanced Fighting Concepts is a unique, ever-evolving method of self-defense and hand-to-hand combat founded by Adam Willis. It emphasizes maximum threat neutralization in a real life, practical context. It takes self-defense to its most devastating in-fighting range literally putting an opponent on the defense. Advanced Fighting Concepts is not a sport, and there are no specific uniforms, attire or competitions. All movements focus on maximum efficiency in realistic conditions. It generally assumes that an attacker will give no quarter. Therefore, responses are intended for use in potentially life threatening situations. Devastating attacks to vulnerable body parts, bareknuckle strikes, headbutts, elbows, and other efficient and potentially brutal attacks are emphasized.
Adam's true love is the art of Wing Chun. His unique view of the art is comparable to the view of Taoism - undefinable, elusive and all-encompassing.
In fact, Adam believes both Yinergi and Advanced Fighting Concepts are merely his different approaches to the art of Wing Chun.
A strong voice for functional simplicity in the martial arts, Adam acts as the editor-in-chief of Wing Chun Magazine (wingchunmagazine.com). The magazine is dedicated to Wing Chun in all its forms, spellings, lineages, traditions, innovations and modifications. This includes Wing Chun, Wing Tsun, WingTsun, Ving Tsun, Jeet Kune Do, and many more.
Adam serves in top positions of several associations such as President of the California Wing Chun Association and as a Director and State Representative of California for the World Ving Tsun Athletic Association. He was approved for induction in the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, is an Associate Member of the International Kung Fu Federation, President of Martial Artists Against Domestic Violence, member of The System Wing Chun Gung Fu, International Combat Martial Arts Unions Association, United States Kuo Shu Federation, Hong Kong Ving Tsun Athletic Association, National Qigong Association and many more.
When not hosting seminars, publishing or writing, Adam can be found at his home in southern California working with his local full-time students. Adam Willis Martial Arts & Wellness - an education and research institute offers programs in Yinergi qigong, Advanced Fighting Concepts and Wing Chun Kung Fu.
